Childhood Stunting Explained

Our Mission

Creating Science Based Healthy Meals

Our Vision is Inspiring

To measurably contribute towards eliminating child stunting. Every single success we achieve means that all the other early childhood development interventions are invested in a fully developed child.

Scientists ask for very specific ‘growth nutrients’ to be present in daily meals during every child’s critical growth phases. There are seven main classes of nutrients that the body needs. These are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins & minerals, fibre and water.

As a society, we cannot continue to serve ultra-processed, sugar-rich, nutrient-poor cereals to small children growing up in poor communities.

Through our Not-for-Profit Processing Business Structure, we vastly improve the quality of ready-to-eat meals we offer to institutions feeding economically disadvantaged children.

Our Mission is Pioneering

To establish not-for-profit food processing plants focused on producing and selling nutrient dense ready-to-eat meals.

Our Blueprint is

  • To take control of the critical recipe creation process in the school feeding value chain.

  • To continually improve the nutritional values of ready-to-eat meals served to children in feeding schemes.

  • To advocate the importance of regular access to high quality ‘growth nutrients’ during the first 2 000 days of a child’s life.

Bio-science is the bedrock of our brand values

The best possible quality and optimum quantity macronutrients are the crux of the matter.

Proteins, fats and carbs making up our meals are minimally processed and bio-available to humans. This can never be compromised.

On 18 July 2020, people around the world reflected on Madiba's work and legacy by giving something back to society.

The Inani Start Well Foundation team supported the Kolisi Foundation and Zelda la Grange's initiative in and around Hermanus with hundreds of food parcels. These parcels were strategically designed to provide food support to a family of six people for one month. INANI added their nutritious StartWell meal to every beneficiary food pack, along with various other contributors like Boxer, Pic n Pay, Marina Sea Salt and Sexy Socks.
